During this time, we celebrate Arab Americans throughout the past and present, and recognize their invaluable contributions to our country. It also serves as a time to combat Anti-Arab bigotry and to challenge stereotypes and prejudices.

TeachMideast curated this collection of resources to introduce students and educators to the history, culture, and stories of Arab Americans from the late 19th century to the present. 

Just south of the World Trade Center district sits the location of a forgotten Manhattan immigrant community. Curious outsiders called it Little Syria although the residents themselves would have known it as the Syrian Colony.

Before we can get into the details of what this month means, we must recognize the complexity of who and what is encompassed within the diverse Arab community.
