Vice Chancellor of DEI Inclusive Belonging Impact Fund

The Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and the Multicultural Office for Student Access, Inclusiveness, and Community (MOSAIC) invite proposals for funding from the Vice Chancellor of DEI Inclusive Excellence and Belonging (IEB) Fund. The VCDEI IEB Fund supports UCCS events, initiatives, and travel that contribute to the advancement of the Inclusive Excellence and Belonging Action Plan at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (https://dei.uccs.edu/inclusive-excellence-and-belonging-action-plan). Funds awarded to qualifying registered student groups and/or their members, departments, and academic units are intended to supplement funding obtained through fundraising, personal investment and other resources of financial support (i.e. SGA, department support, sponsorships, etc.) and is not meant to be used as a primary funding source.

Eligible activities include but are not limited to:

  • IEB projects and/or new, innovative events/initiatives for UCCS students, faculty, and staff in alignment with the strategic framework pillars.
  • Support signature and/or traditional DEI-centric events, exhibits, performances, productions or workshops for UCCS students, faculty, and staff.
  • Celebrations designed to enhance the university community's knowledge, awareness and appreciation of a broad range of diverse cultures for UCCS students, faculty, and staff.
  • Travel funds to promote professional development and participation at relevant state, regional, or national conferences in alignment with the strategic framework pillars.
  • Bringing diversity, equity, and/or inclusion-oriented scholars, artists, performers, and lecturers to the UCCS campus.

Full consideration for funding will be given to registered student groups, departments, and academic units who provide well-written proposals that foster collaboration and demonstrate the greatest impact in advancing the IEB Action plan at UCCS. Proposed expenses must be reasonable and well documented. Funds are limited and will be allocated carefully to provide broad support for campus initiatives.

Application open from August 22, 2023 - April 26, 2024
