Explore DEI Student Organizations on Campus
The Multicultural Student Coalition is comprised of student groups that are focused on campus diversity and inclusion. These student groups are open to all UCCS students and are directly supported by M.O.S.A.I.C. These student groups create a sense of belonging and host diverse events throughout the year.
African Student Association (ASA)
ASA's mission is to bring together students from different cultures from across Africa while also establishing a support system at UCCS for the international African student community. They aim to provide moral and educational support, create an entertaining and friendly environment, and bring awareness to the rich and diverse cultures throughout Africa and present in the UCCS community.
Asian Pacific Islander Student Union (APISU)
APISU strives to build a stronger and more inclusive community for Asian and Pacific Islander students at UCCS as well as the surrounding communities through encouraging diversity and learning.
Black Student Union (BSU)
The BSU is a social club centered on Black, African American, and African history and modern-day Black culture. They support and foster an environment that creates a sense of belonging, empowerment, and free expression for all UCCS students, staff, and faculty.
Feminist Club
The Feminist Club is dedicated to fighting for their fellow women, girls, and femmes, so that hopefully one day they will not ever have to feel lesser than men in US society. They believe that women should have equal opportunities and believe in the necessity of feminists like them making noise and enacting change.
Indian Student Alliance (ISA)
ISA is a student group that aims to promote cultural learning about India among the students at UCCS. They host several cultural events on campus and in the community, including but not limited to: Holi (festival of colors), Diwali (festival of lights) and Navratri (autumnal celebration).
International Buddy Club (iBuddy)
iBuddy is a student run mentorship club with the goal of supporting and connecting international student with local, Colorado Springs, experiences. Their focus is to create a sustainable student-run multicultural program on campus that will enhance and broaden the perspectives of members.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc
The mission of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. is to unite college men of culture, patriotism, and honor in a bond of fraternity; to encourage honorable achievement in every field of human endeavor; to promote the spiritual, social, intellectual, and moral welfare of its members; to assist the aims of colleges and universities; and to inspire service in the public interest.
Korean Student Association (KSA)
KSA is a place for UCCS students to meet up and talk about Korean Popular (K-Pop) media freely and openly. This includes having events that are centered around K-Pop, learning K-Pop dances, discussing Korean culture and food, learning the Korean language, and going to official K-Pop concerts and events.
Latinx Student Union (LSU)
LSU was established for the expressed purpose of creating awareness of the Latinx culture and promoting unity. Their focus in the UCCS Latinx Community is being a political voice for the Latinx student population through social, academic, and political student involvement. Ultimately, they provide family to UCCS’s most vulnerable students.
National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)
NSBE's core activities are centered on improving the recruitment and retention of Black and other minority engineers, in both academia and industry. NSBE is a nationally affiliated organization that provides opportunities for personal and professional success, and remains unmatched by any other organization to date.
Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority
The mission of Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority, Inc. is to create a strong sisterhood and an educational support network for women on college campuses. Pi Lambda Chi Latina Sorority, Inc. seeks to preserve Latina/o culture and history, as well as to promote education and community service in the Latina/o communities surrounding their campuses.
Queer Transgender People of Color and Two Spirit (QTPOC)
QTPOC envisions creating a safe space for queer and transgender people of colors, and two-spirit communities of students on campus. A goal of this space is to allow students of color of all queer identities to discuss their experiences, network and build community, gain more academic experiences through conferences, workshops, and multicultural events, and have a place on campus to exist unapologetically and unafraid.
Sisterhood Club
Sisterhood is a club centered on Black women and their empowerment throughout generations. They aim to provide a community and a haven for Black women and those who support the history and empowerment of Black women.
Spectrum (LGBTQ+ Alliance)
Spectrum is a club that aims to create a safe and educational space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA+) identifying individuals and allies. Spectrum and LGBTQ+ Resource Center provide a safer space where students are supported regardless of their sexual or romantic orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Women's Student Association (WSA)
WSA works hard to foster a community that supports the growth, inclusivity, and empowerment of women and inspires and provokes women to thrive in personal, academic, and professional life. They do this through their main objectives: 1. Develop programs, services, and activities that reach out to women. 2. Host events that promote an inclusive culture with engagement and education. 3. Provide greater awareness of the nature of women’s current issues relating to economic, social, and political matters.
